Hello everyone! I'm sorry I haven't updated this blog since our dossier was approved in November and a possible match was found for us. Since then we have been sitting on the edge of our seat with weekly hopes of the match being finalized and official. We had thought it would happen on December 18 and then on January 7, and then every Thursday since then. The wait has been very hard. Each week either a worker was on vacation, a name would be misspelled, or some other thing on the paperwork would need to be adjusted. It is so hard because when your paperwork is typed up and is just one letter off, it takes at least two weeks to fix it. *sigh* God has truly been sustaining us through all of this as we trust in His perfect timing.
DETAILS
We are SUPPOSED to be up for review to be matched THIS Thursday. If you think about it please please pray for us that this will go through and be finalized this Thursday!! If the match is official then we will get M*****'s file and learn all about her and her history. We do know that she will be 11 in May and that she has asthma. Other than that we know very little. Once we get her file we will submit our letter of acceptance and then they will go tell her that a family has chosen her! She will get a photo album that we made for her and then we will be able to schedule a Skype session with her so our family can finally be united! Oh how we love her so much already!! Also once we match there is an 8 week count down to travel!
FUNDS
My fundraising thermometer stopped working on this site so just for an update, we are approximately 8,000.00 away from the total cost of the adoption which ended up being 42,300.00. We had thought it would be 37,000.00 but all of the lawyers fees for the Lifelines programs went up about 5,000.00. This was very disheartening. We were able to refinance our home and take out 11,700.00 to put towards the adoption costs which helped tremendously and we have two more grant applications in. We got approved for one grant for 500.00 and one grant for 1000.00! We also have had some incredibly loving and faithful givers who have supported getting this little girl home from the beginning. These people have been miracles and blessings from the Lord and we are incredibly thankful.
TRAINING
Last I just wanted to share that Jeff and I went to an eye opening required adoption training in Birmingham last month called "Crossings". This was hosted by Lifelines Children's Services and has helped us tremendously in preparing for the coming challenges in adopting an older child internationally. Wow! We learned so much and have began preparing for all that will happen when we come home with our girl. We are very thankful that Lifelines provides such great training's!
Well that's all for now! I will update THIS
